Sperm and humpback whales here are the goal of extended cruises led the past two years by Seafarers
and Oceanic Society Expeditions. About 14 whale watchers went out in 1991 and spent £8,000
($14,000 US). Since then, a local operator has begun offering whale tours. The availability of whale-
watching -particulary to see sperm whales- could provide an additional tourist draw in the competitive
Caribbean tourism market.
