A World of Pure Essence

One of the people who accompanied Eve at PCB was the journalist Saiko Nozaki. She also produced an account of her experiences. Here is the conclusion of her report:

I have experienced a number of instances when I felt Eve was reading my thoughts and she was reacting to them. It was as if she sometimes wanted to show me how totally closed off we the 'non-autistic' people could be, hiding behind words, theories and titles. Eve seemed to read all the doubts and criticisms that I was (unintentionally) hiding as well as my love and kindness. Eve seems to live in a world of pure essence.

I imagined that it must be hard for her to be autistic not because of her seizures or she is 'handicapped' or labelled as such but because 'we' can't handle it. 'We' the non-autistic can't handle the truth all the time. Though we try so hard to shed them, we still have defence mechanism, insecurity, insensitivity.. We don't know what to do with this being who sees through us but gives us very little obvious feedback. Isn't that why they had to turn to the dolphins?

So what about the dolphins 'healing' Eve?

Forget it. Who said autism is an illness anyway? Eve and the dolphins just exist in their 'let me get to your core' kind of human-law defying world. Maybe it's not really Eve who needs to change but we - the non-autistic people really have to change and open up. And, who knows? Maybe Eve will someday tell us how to better communicate with the dolphins. When Eve starts speaking, we will be able to share more of her 'dolphin secrets' in person.

After I came back from Panama City Beach, my family said that I became an outrageous and blasphemous individual that I must have been 'brainwashed' by Eve and the dolphins. Exactly. I joined the club. Total honesty from now on. Welcome to the 'Eve Dreamtime".

Eve in London and Amsterdam

It appears that changes in routine are stressful to autistic people. Even so Eve has agreed to come to Europe from the USA. On 30th June, at Regents Park College, she will explain, via her mother Brigette and facilitated writing, how she wants to help other autistics and those who care for them. After that she will travel to Holland to attend a small gathering organised by Sarah Broadhurst and Shizuko Ouwehand.
A joyful day of holistic healing has been organised at CARNAC, Bloemgracht 90-92, 1015 TM Amsterdam, Netherlands on Sunday 7th July 1996 from 10am to pm.
